Anti-marketing

Looks like Labour are pouring millions into google.
But it raises in me strange feelings, firstly I don't want no stinking money burning adverts on my site, especially the Labour party, thats worse than if the BNP advertised here, and secondly, well, I think a 10% cut in spending is a great thing, 20% would be even better.

And clicking through to the Labour website tells us that a 10% cut in spending would mean thousands fewer police officers. Here, read this story about how it took eight officers to arrest a cyclist or this one about police teaching primary school children to recognise terrorists or this story about a Police chief spending £3,500 on a chair for a poetry prize.

So, aye, I reckon the police could easily have their budgets cut, I would support such an endevour.

Product development

I rather like this wee graph that I found on Blue Matter here, not for the way it shows the adoption of new services and technology has speeded up.

But because it lists the trappings of 21st century civilisation, and show's how the western world has spent a century developing these things, making them affordable to the massed, ubiquitous and available.

So in third world countries, for the poor populations, for all the abuse and exploitation that goes on by the west and by their own corrupt leaders, we can take them from the top left corner to the bottom right.

No need to re-invent the wheel.

Is the touchscreen smartphone the pinnacle of human civilsation? The iPhone, is that it? The moment when every member of the human race can have a touchscreen smartphone and the infrastructure is in place to support it, that's the peak of the machine-age.

**UPDATE**
Eep, I forgot about the multi-touch touchscreen smart phone, when that's ubiquitous, then we've won.

We pay?

We pay for this, right?

BBC front page, top news splash, is a fucking regurgitated advert for some parenting website.

This is what we pay our licence fees for, aye? Marteting for fucking Sarah Stone, editor of Gurgle.com?

Whichever cretin put that on the website ought to have their arse booted.
